Annual AME Conference 2006 |
The birth of Anointed Movement started in the winter of 2006 with the
vision of Praise Dancer/Choreographer Raquel Hill of Bethel AME Church in Moorestown, NJ. Sis Raquel wanted to express
the battles and victories we all face from a creative and artistic view based on God's Biblical principals. She was
asked to have a praise dance team open the processional and minister at the Annual AME Conference at the Hilton Hotel in Cherry
Hill, NJ. Many ladies from local areas ranging in age from 4-75 met on Saturday mornings for rehearsals with Sis Raquel
at Bethel. Among those dancers were Carlene Groce, Renee Liciaga, and Brenda Barry.
Two and a half years later, Sis Raquel's blessing, love, and support
continues to encourage us to move, grow, and build what is now called Anointed Movement praise dance ministry.
Our love for the art of music, each other, and ultimately Jesus
Christ our Lord and Savior is what keeps us all in step!
Jude 1:24 Now unto
Him that is able to keep you from falling and to present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy
25 To only the wise God our Savior be glory and majesty, dominion
and power, both now and ever. Amen.

Brenda Barry
Brenda is a singer/songwriter and an absolute music lover. She
is currently a Billing Coordinator for Disc Makers - a CD/DVD manufacturer geared specifically towards independent
performing artists & film makers. She met Renee in 2006 through her brother Ron Chambers. Brenda and
Ron have been creating and performing inspirational music since 2003.
Brenda has been dancing since she was 5 years old. For years dance
was a deeply instilled passion in which she could express herself without words and let worries drift away. "Learning through
Renee that it could be used to praise the Lord and minister to others changed my walk dramatically - I pray it's a long path
that God will continue to light for years to come. We have come so far from where we started as a ministry and I am
extremely thankful for that. I am excited to see where the Lord will direct us next!"
1Cor 13:2 If
I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains,
but have not love, I am nothing.
Carlene Groce
Carlene has been a teacher in both public school and her church
for the past 9 years. She enjoys teaching children and is blessed to know that God is using her to make a difference in their
lives. Carlene became a part of Anointed Movement when the ministry was created by Raquel Hill to minister during
the 2006 AME Conference. She loved the idea of being able to dance with women of all ages and backgrounds. After the conference,
Carlene continued to minister with Anointed Movement for churches, schools, and adoption agencies. "I have never
had any formal dance training but love the idea of being able to minister through movement."
Psalm 37:4 Delight thyself also in the Lord: and he shall give thee
the desires of thine heart.
Tanya B Wright
Tanya is a Dance Movement therapist who counsels souls struggling with mental
illness, trauma, and chemical addictions. Called by the Lord at a young age to dance, she went from praise dancing in
her bedroom to the stage of Eastern College. Tanya eventually became the President of Eastern College's Sacred Dance
Group and actively explored opportunities to share the glory of the Lord via creative arts. After completing Antioch
New England Graduate School as a Dance Movement Therapist in 2003, Tanya searched furthur training in dance as a ministry.
Her passion to bring the Word of God alive through dancing praise, prayers, and worship motivated her to become an ordained
certified dance minister. Although past obstacles prevented her from continuing her calling, God's perfect timing has
utilized Anointed Movement in the Spring of 2008 to bring her back to her roots. Alleluia!!
Tanya's love for non-verbal and spirit-led expression drives her to encourage others to connect with our divine
God. She provides workshops for churches, individuals, groups, dance teams, and whoever desires to find their creative
expression in relation to God via dance.
Tanya is an active member of the American Dance Movement Therapy Association, the Sacred Dance Guild, and Christian
Dance Fellowship, USA.

nature (camping, hiking, etc).
She became interested in Anointed Movement after overhearing Sis
Renee talking about praise dance one morning after Bible Study. Becca has always enjoyed dancing, but never really found
the opportunities to do so. This turned out to be the perfect solution for her; "I found I can do something I truly
love and enjoy plus I can share that love with others and minister all at the same time."

NJ. "I nearly fell through the floor when Renee invited me to join Anointed Movement, particularly since I have no previous
dance experience. However, once I got over my initial shock I found myself increasingly intrigued by the opportunity
to praise God through dance and movement." After prayer and consideration, Linda joined Anointed Movement in November
of 2007. "I had no idea just how much these ladies would be ministering to me as we seek to minister to others.
They have been an important part of my support as I am surviving breast cancer."
